Hiking in the Mountains
A friend and I went hiking in the Glenrock State conservation reserve yesterday, and we took some photos! It was such a lovely winters day we got up bright and early to go for this 3 km trek. Apart from getting stuck on either side of the fountain, we managed to end up safe and sound. There is may different tracks to be found, and all of them have magnificent views. If you keep going towards the end, you end up at the beach. We are going back next week and taking some eats! Stay Tuned! x j

thelma plum feat. patrick james @ the great northern newcastle
Thelma Plum's dainty voice was electric through the Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle on the 16/5/13. Her melodic tone persisted with her heartfelt lyrics to produce something that stopped the crowd in their tracks and made the audience pay attention. Then to her popular track "Dollar", to which the audience clapped and sung along to in a happy sway. Patrick James supported and was moving with his new song release "Brighter Lights", his acoustic set was definitely one to remember. See their profiles here:

sprout cafe, newcastle
Went to sprout today in Newcastle. It was a cute cafe with industrial design, housed in the middle of the historical museum. Its right near the harbour so you can go for a walk afterwards outside- the autumn air was so crisp today I passed. However, the chai latte was made to perfection, its frothy spiced topping was the perfect start to my day, sitting in the sun at this cute 'train station' themed cafe. Well worth the visit.
3/5.

sweet potato & asian salad.
Lunch with friends is always magnifico! Today we opted for a light lunch at home - we made a vegan salad with sweet potato pieces. It was delicious with some garlic and roast capsicum.
The potato was roasted for around 30 minutes, and the salad contains baby spinach, shredded carrot, cabbage and a good quality vinaigrette to finish.
